We are in Kansas.

(Let’s hope it doesn’t rain.)

Last week’s conservative strategy paid off and we got a great finish considering all the carnage. This week it’s back to going for the win.

Logano is on pole, but not showing the 10 lap speed averages I’d like to see.

Harvick is flying, time again to pay up for top talent.

Kurt Busch and Martin Truex –  depending when you added them to your team you could have almost $7 in the bank between the two, no way you are giving up that kind of leverage the rest of the season.

Carl Edwards has been gaining speed lately and had  a great 10 lap average speed, for $21 he might just win it tonight. With the equipment he has, once he gets hot he might not cool down.

Speed on the Cheap: Young phenom Erik Jones topped practice yesterday, had good 10 lap speed, has awesome equipment and booted David Ragan out of the 18’s driver seat. Usually I’d be issuing a Caution here due to his rookieness (it’s a word now, deal with it), but this kid came into Denny Hamlin’s car COLD at Bristol, kept all the fenders on it and gained speed throughout the race. At $7.50 you’d be dumb not to grab him, especially when he’ll probably cost you $10 next week.

My Ideal lineup:

Kurt Busch

Martin Truex

Carl Edwards

Erik Jones

(Yes, my entire team is starting in the top 12)
