Richmond Saturday Night Race… as long as it doesn’t rain

We somehow survived the carnage last week with our lineup and have come back to try and finish what we started last week, a crushing victory. Let’s get to it.

Harvick, Kurt Busch, and Truex. Same as every week, fast and can’t be beat for the money.

Jimmie Johnson slid around his entire qualifying lap, certainly guaranteed to drastically improve upon his 36th starting position. Great speed in final practice

Joey Logano on the pole is always a great choice, as long as his teammate doesn’t hit him.

Dark Horse –  Clint Bowyer, always sneaky good at Richmond and fast in both practices. Big value here.

Caution –  AJ Allmendinger qualified very high in 4th place, a lot of downside risk with his suspect equipment.

Speed on the cheap –  Landon Cassill has had a 10 lap average speed in the top 20 in both practices. He qualified high at 19th which opens him up to downside risk however. Chase Elliott is also a nice cheap option showing speed with great equipment under him. Chase qualified even higher than Landon, both have serious downside risk, but Chase has more potential upside.

My ideal lineup:

Kurt Busch

Martin Truex

Clint Bowyer

Chase Elliott
