WHY JIM HARBAUGH WILL FAIL AT MICHIGAN

The fact that Jim Harbaugh is running around with his shirt off at satellite football camps in SEC country should tell you everything you need to know. Harbaugh has quickly found out that coaching at your Alma mater is an entirely different level of pressure then leading Stanford or even the San Francisco 49ers. I believe the 51-year-old Harbaugh took a huge gamble by accepting the Michigan job. He could’ve had any open NFL gig that he wanted, but instead he chose to “come home” to Ann Arbor. Either he will return the Wolverines back into a National Power or he’ll be forced to leave like Brady Hoke, unceremoniously shoved out the door. There are no other possible endings. I say this not as a Harbaugh hater, but as a realist who knows when someone is not a good fit.

I am well aware that my opinion of Harbaugh’s future at Michigan is contrary to popular thinking. Everywhere you turn there is someone praising Harbaugh’s moves since he arrived on campus. However, I think it would be wise to hold off on planning any championship parades. I know Michigan fans don’t want to hear it or believe it, but Harbaugh ultimately will come up empty in Ann Arbor. The reason has nothing to do with Harbaugh’s game management or preparation. I don’t even think the school that begins with the letter “O” will cause his demise. The reason will be Harbaugh’s hard-nosed, my-way coaching style. There will be some modest gains at first, but eventually Coach Harbaugh’s controlling ways will wear thin with 4 and 5-star recruits just like it did with his players in San Francisco.

Story after story poured out of 49ers headquarters during this past season. Harbaugh’s players were fed up with all of his rules. Players reportedly felt he treated them like children. In fact, on planes, his players weren’t allowed to listen to music, or even play cards. Players also complained about Harbaugh’s never ending mind games, which some felt went a little too far. Pause and think about it for a second. He treated grown men that way. What do you think is going to happen when he’s that hard on a bunch of teenagers and kids in their early 20’s? Do you think Harbaugh is going to change overnight and become a players coach? When you take a look at his background, the answer is pretty obvious.

Harbaugh is a “Michigan Man” from glory days past. His maize and blue roots run very deep. He grew up in Ann Arbor while his father was an assistant coach to the legendary Bo Schembechler. He later played and starred for Schembechler during the 1980’s. Harbaugh might have butted heads with Schembechler but he also thrived under his coach’s iron fisted style. When the NFL came calling Harbaugh ended up in a Bears uniform playing for Mike Ditka, a guy who made Schembechler look like a sweet old man out for a Sunday drive. It’s only fair to assume these two old school coaches were a major influence on Harbaugh when he finally decided to become a head coach himself.

To Harbaugh’s credit, his coaching style has led to a lot of success. He has become a first class turn around specialist wherever he has gone. From the University of San Diego, Stanford and then San Francisco. However, all of those places have one thing in common, they aren’t his Alma mater. The pressure Harbaugh is feeling at Michigan, whether he wants to admit it or not is far greater than anything he ever felt during those other coaching stops. Besides dealing with trying to build an immediate winner, he also has to adjust back to coaching college kids. Clearly this is already has become an issue when you consider several players have already transfered from Michigan to programs like Auburn and West Virginia.

To make it clear, I don’t think transfers from the program will decide the Wolverines fate, but it does speak to the way Harbaugh has decided to deal with the players at Michigan. It’s Harbaugh’s way or the highway, which is a lot easier in the NFL with the pro’s under contract. In today’s age of coddling big time recruits, I wonder if Harbaugh will be able to dial it back and stroke all the necessary ego’s to keep his top players in a Michigan uniform. If not, you can expect the transfer train to keep rolling.

A difficult but true fact for the Michigan faithful is that the Bo Schembechler way of doing things no longer translates in College Football. I don’t fault Harbaugh for not adjusting. It’s what he knows, he’s been successful in the past. I personally would love to play for a Jim Harbaugh. I admire his business first approach. All of his rules wouldn’t bother me, but unfortunately I am in my 40’s. I come from a completely different generation. The caliber of player Harbaugh needs to compete for Big 10 titles and national championships aren’t going to stick around if the coach is a control freak.
Like it or not, we are now living in a “ME FIRST” culture more than ever before. The question is, can Harbaugh adjust to that or will his inner Schembechler get the better of him?

THE NFL IS MOVING TO INGLEWOOD, CA AND HERE’S THE PROOF

If you are one of the people who actually give a damn about the NFL returning to Los Angeles then rest easy, this time it’s definitely happening. I know you all have heard it before but trust me, the NFL is returning as soon as the 2016 regular season. However, if you are having a problem putting a little faith in the process due to past failures like Irwindale and AEG’S Downtown Farmers Field, then let me put your mind at ease with some indisputable facts.

la

First, enter multi-billionaire Stan Kroenke. Besides owning the Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche, he is also the owner of the St. Louis Rams. Kroenke’s net worth according to Forbes Magazine is $6.3 Billion. That doesn’t count his wife’s $5.6 Billion (Her dad co-founded Walmart). Combine the two and you have the second richest NFL owner behind Paul Allen. It should be clear now that money is not an object. Kroenke is known to play his cards very close to the vest, but that doesn’t mean it’s impossible to read his hand. Especially when you consider some of his recent moves. Back in January of 2014 he purchased 60 acres of land in Inglewood, CA. Then in January of 2015 he partnered up with Stockbridge Real Estate group to add 238 more acres at the site where Hollywood Park race track once operated. The Kroenke group then announced their plans to build an 80,000 seat state of the art stadium along with a mixed-use development consisting of more than 4 million square feet of retail, office, hotel and residential space . The total cost could reach $2 billion dollars, but here is what makes Kroenke different from other NFL owners. He will build it without using one tax payer dollar. Kroenke doesn’t get bogged down begging/negotiating with city councils for funding, he has all the means necessary to move forward. Kroenke’s next big step was to free the Rams from the last 10 years of their lease at the Edward Jones Dome. He activated a clause in the lease that made the Rams a year to year tenant due to the City of St. Louis not making enough improvements to the Edward Jones Dome. Skeptics at this point can try to say Kroenke has only made these moves in Los Angeles for leverage to get a brand new stadium in St. Louis. Maybe, but not likely, especially if you listened to Kroenke’s business partner Chris Meany who works for the same company that purchased the land at Hollywood Park. When asked by Fred Roggin on the Beast 980 radio show if Kroenke was building an 80,000 seat stadium in Inglewood no matter what? Meany’s answer wasn’t long but said it all. “Yes, that’s correct”.

Now enter the NFL. I think it’s pretty obvious they got caught a little off guard by Kroenke’s moves out West. To try to catch up and put on the appearance that they are in control of the situation, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell threw together a special relocation committee focused on Los Angeles opportunities. The committee consists of six of the most influential owners. You have Clark Hunt of Kansas City, Robert Kraft of New England, John Mara of the New York Giants, Bob McNair of Houston, Jerry Richardson of Carolina, and Art Rooney of Pittsburgh. The committee is charged with weighing all the Los Angeles stadium possibilities and then give a recommendation to the rest of the league – but let’s be honest about it. If Kroenke wants to go to Los Angeles, he is going to go to Los Angeles. No one will be able to stop him. The precedent is already there with Al Davis and the Raiders. As for the process, It’s not a surprise the NFL has been pretty tight lipped, but recently there was a little peek behind the curtain. Eric Grubman, who is the NFL’s chief deal maker when it comes to relocation and stadium construction admitted in a recent interview that in all his dealings with Kroenke over the years, even before Kroenke bought the Rams, “Stan has always done what he says he is going to do.” Meaning it’s not a bluff when a Kroenke representative said they are going to build an 80,000 seat stadium in Inglewood no matter what.

stadium

As for St. Louis, they definitely can read the writing on the wall. Members of their city council are no longer living in denial. The members have shifted from “What are we going to do to keep the Rams? To what are we going to do to remain an NFL city?.” That statement is huge when you consider those same city council members have helped propose a new 65,000 seat stadium for the Rams to play in. Too any neutral observer, that seismic shift says that those city council members have gotten signals from Kroenke that he isn’t interested in what they are selling anymore.

So let me ask you, after what you just read, do you think the Rams are staying in St. Louis or moving to Los Angeles? Even the biggest skeptic at this point has to concede it’s a done deal. The only question now is whether the Rams will play at the Rose Bowl, Coliseum or possibly even Dodgers Stadium while the Inglewood site is developed.

Major hat tip to the Fred Roggin radio show on the Beast 980. No one has covered this story more or better than Roggin. He continues to grind and find out facts that no other member of the media is apparently willing to do. His show is a must listen if you want to get updated on what’s really happening with the NFL and Los Angeles. This is a major story and should be treated that way going forward. Billions of dollars are at stake and there is always a possibility when that much money is involved that events or people can get a little dirty despite the best of intentions.

Fantasy football and fantasy NASCAR are my two biggest hobbies and I treat them that way. I have even written a book on my life as a sex chat girl, ‘How to Talk Dirty – A Hands on Guide to Phone Sex’. I have been training girls in the art of talking dirty for the past 3 years and have even starred in my own TV documentary, ‘My Phone Sex Secrets’.
Since which, I have been interviewed on a popular daytime TV show, done several Radio interviews and at one time had a regular guest spot on Fubar radio. An uncensored, internet station on which the first week I talked about buggering the male presenter.

I have done countless magazine interviews including, Mayfair and Escort’s men’s mags. I have even been part of a relationship advice panel for a large UK newspaper. Also, have written articles for Rude Magazine, a female based online mag.

I have since written a second book, a fiction novel about auto-erotic asphyxiation and based around the life of a sex chat girl who is taken over by the alter ego she created to take the more bizarre and depraved sex chat. Entitled, Will You be My Fantasy? Some say it should have been called, ‘Death by Pussy!’ Well, it’s what you guys crave the most.

I have been married twice, worn them out. Now single, free and able to just explore. And, because of this I have started a new adventure. It’s taking recorded stories into the 21st century, phone sex downloads. I call them iwanks, a bit like itunes only much dirtier. You can download a very naughty sex chat, recorded by me on to your mobile and use me whenever those spunk filled balls need emptying!

I was born in Berkeley, California before the Summer of Love. When it came I was old enough to know that I lived in a very special place in a very special time. Dang that I was not old enough to attend any of the cool stuff.

We are native Californians for three generations on my mother’s side of the family. Before that, Norway. Dad’s people were Oakies who fled the dust bowl in the ‘30s and ended up in Solano County.

For nearly 20 years I was a law librarian for private law firms in Oakland, California. Quit that in 2006 for the much groovier trade of barbering. Nowadays I groom gentlemen for a living and paint (in oil) Oakland, its people and trees. I also garden and cat whisper when necessary.

RomaineRomaine Ayoki Burrell

Romaine Ayoki Burrell is my name. I am student of the world. I am from St. Andrew, Jamaica. Waaah Gwaaan massive? (what’s up world/people?). I love to travel and live like a local. I am a food addict. My biggest goal apart from owning my fortune 500 company(yeah I am ambitious) is to see every country in the world two times over. I write on anything I please, even if its taboo. Looking forward to writing for you all.

brianBrian Kaider

As a patent and trademark attorney, I get to work with a lot of interesting start-up companies and see fascinating new products. Whenever possible, I love to combine my work with the things that I’m passionate about, like craft beer, motorcycles, lacrosse, and woodworking. But, after a day of staring at a computer or talking on the phone, I need to work with my hands. So, you’ll often find me building something in my workshop, making pens, changing the exhaust on my Suzuki Boulevard M109R, growing hops to make my own beer, or cooking up something spicy in the kitchen and never from a recipe. At the end of the day, I’ll grab a nice porter and watch pro football or college lacrosse, where I’m rooting for the Baltimore Ravens or Towson Tigers (or whoever is playing against Johns Hopkins), respectively.
